Engaging With Islam
A Training Course for Christians

Its goal is to help you to stand firm as a Christian, to defend the gospel and to address issues quickly and confidently. It not only considers Islam but examines and defends key Christian teaching.

You can do this course individually, as a church group, or as part of leadership training. Anyone can lead this course as no previous knowledge of Islam is required and leader's notes are provided. To run the course you need the DVD to show to the group, and a copy of the workbook for each participant.

There are seven sessions, and each is a mix of preparation, group discussion and a DVD presentation. The session notes are in the workbook. Each session takes between 60 to 70 minutes.

The course syllabus is as follows:

More Than Dreams

More Than Dreams features the life stories of five converts from Islam to Christianity. Each story is re-enacted in the orginal language (Indonesian, Arabic, Turkish, Nigerian and Iranian) with English subtitles.

This is a very gentle way to share the gospel with a Muslim.

The Crescent and the Cross

The Crescent and the Cross On the 8th August 2006, the Christian and Muslim student groups at the University of Wollongong held a dialogue meeting. The speakers were Keysar Trad (Islam) and Samuel Green (Christianity).

The format for the meeting was:

* Keysar Trad on Islam (20 mins)
* Samuel Green on Christianity (20 mins)
* Keysar Trad replies (10 mins).
* Samuel Green replies (10 mins)
* Question time from the floor.

Muhammad & Jesus - A Public Lecture


In this lecture Rev. Iskander looks at the life of Muhammad and Jesus. He engages with contemporary Islamic ideas about Jesus and examines Muhammad's life according to the Qur'an, Hadith and his biography. He also examines the Biblical texts that Muslims claim predict Muhammad. Rev. Iskander defends the Biblical Jesus and shows that he is the only way of salvation. Rev. Iskander is an Arabic scholar.

Here We Stand

Here We Stand has three interviews with converts from Islam to Christianity. Each person describes their life as a Muslim and how they came to understand the truth about Jesus.

The DVD defends against the attacks that Muslims often bring against Christianity and the Bible. It also answers the Islamic claims that Muhammad was a prophet of God, and that the Qur'an is miraculous.
